The first galactic war did not have all the fantastic weapons dreamed up from the wildest imaginations of mankind. There was no devise that could create a massive black hole that would swallow everything in sight. They didn't even have a weapon that could destroy the smallest star or even a planet. In fact at the beginning of the war there was not much destruction at all. Many a planet would simply tremble in fear as the Imperial fleets orbited their worlds and demanded its surrender. Most of the empires victories were made without even firing a shot. Many star systems fell to them without as much as a murmur. However, some planets would not be bent so easily. They had to be blasted and bombed with high energy weapons from space before they finally would gave in. It took the reduction of their largest cities into cinders to make them realize they were beaten. Many vanquished worlds wondered what had happened to their great space fleets. They saw them leave to strike out at the imperial warships before they could reach their home worlds. Alas they were quickly dispatched by the shear numbers and power of the imperial armada. A great alliance was formed in an attempt to stem the tide of the imperial might. Was it a case of too little too late? Some believed it made no difference because it was due to something else, The Star Crystal. ~ Mankind's first galactic war was the result of the discovery of the ancient powers of the Star Crystal.
